Diagnostics & imaging
Diagnostics & imaging
Bloodwork, digital x-ray and ultrasound in-house. It means we usually know what we’re dealing with before you’ve left, rather than a week later.
Same visit for most results
Who this is for
Any animal where the examination alone doesn’t answer the question, and any older pet having a routine health screen. Bloodwork before an anaesthetic is standard here rather than an upsell.
What’s involved
In-house blood analysis, including haematology and biochemistry
Digital x-ray, including full-mouth dental x-ray
Ultrasound of the abdomen and heart
Urine analysis
Skin and ear cytology
What happens on the day
Most bloodwork runs while you wait, which is the point of having the machines here. X-rays sometimes need light sedation so the animal can be positioned properly and stay still, and we will talk to you about that before we do it.
How to prepare
Withhold food for a few hours beforehand if we’ve asked for it, because some blood results are affected by a recent meal. Water is always fine. If you’ve noticed something intermittent, a short phone video is genuinely more useful than a description.
Afterwards
We go through results with you rather than emailing numbers with no explanation. If something needs sending to an external lab, we tell you when to expect it and we call you: you should never have to chase us for a result.
Cost
Priced per test, from [price] for a basic blood panel. We’ll always give you the cost of the next step before running it, and where there’s a cheaper test that answers the same question, we’ll say so.
Book this appointment
Request a time in about two minutes. We confirm by phone within one working day.
